Holy Moly it is already the 4th quarter of the year! Where does the time go? Although it is nearing the end of 2024, it is one of our FAVORITE times of the year. We are entering full-out holiday season! Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years! There are so many more opportunities to have quality time with family, try some new holiday treats, and hopefully some relaxation time in there too. With more family time, means more visitors to your home. We are here to help make sure putting out your holiday decorations to make your house look festive for those visitors is a BREEZE!
We have 4 simple steps that you can follow to make sure you have organized spaces in your home, a decorated home, and ample space to have that quality family hang-out time.
- TAKE INVENTORY
Remember that pumpkin that was gifted to you last year that you do not love…… guess what, you will not love it next year either. It is SO important to purge holiday décor items that you no longer love! You can choose to donate, sell, or discard those items to make more room for the decorations you DO love.
- GIFT YOURSELF NEW STORAGE CONTAINERS.
You want to invest in solid storage solutions to ensure your decorations will be protected for years to come. Make sure you know what you are needing to store before you press buy – what size bins will you need to fit all those fun Christmas ornaments? *Fun tip – depending on your budget, you could even purchase bins that are assorted colors to help correspond to the different seasons*
- Label EVERYTHING.
Label the outside of containers with the holiday or season the items in each bin are for! This will help ensure you know exactly which bin you need for the season/holiday you are ready to put away and to put out.
- Do not rush when putting away your items.
We know that after a long holiday season, we are exhausted from all the fun we have had! We know a lot of people tend to throw their decorations away because they just want to sit and relax for a little bit. But it is so important, when changing the décor, you are packing everything up neater than how you found it. Neatly wrapping everything will make all the difference when you unpack them again next year.
Maintaining organized spaces is ongoing process. Every year, you should be evaluating the items in your bins – when one thing enters the bin, consider getting rid of a different thing 😊 We all know there is only so much room in a home for décor!
