Has anyone else noticed that the leaves are changing a bit earlier this year? The mornings are starting to get a bit chilly and football season has started, which means…. Fall is officially here!
If you are anything like me, I start thinking about fall right after the 4th of July. I love everything about it – pumpkin spice, sweater weather, and everything fall decorations! So, it is quite easy for me to get carried away getting the newest glass pumpkin or sweater to add to my collection.
So, this is both a reminder for me… and for you that you should take a good look at your current inventory of decorations before you go out and buy more this season 😊 Taking that inventory and making sure you know what you have already will help you keep those holiday decorations organized and contained to one area in your home!

Back to the fun stuff…. Deciding if we need that new glass pumpkin or sweater. Here are a few ways to decide if you need some more fall decorations or if you can repurpose some of the items you already have!
Take Inventory:
Make a list of all your decorations and evaluate which ones you use each year. If you do not use a decoration often, you can consider donating or selling it… which may make more room for a new piece of décor you are really wanting!
Consider Your Budget:
I am a ballin-on-a-budget type of girl! So, make sure you are getting the most bang for your buck when you are adding items to your décor. I love those new outdoor pumpkins as much as the next, but no decorations are worth going into debt for 😊
Think About Your Theme:
This goes alongside “take inventory.” Are there things you can get rid of that do not match your current theme goals? Make sure before you buy something that you have pictured in your head where you are going to put it in your home.
Think About Storage:
Everyone has a different amount of space for their holiday decorations, so make sure whatever you are adding to your theme for this year is going to fit so that you are not overflowing. Plan for that large blow-up pumpkin or all those leaves for your centerpiece. They look pretty on the table, but we also want to make sure they have a home to be put away when we are no longer displaying them.
Last, but certainly not least, keep decorations up if you like (although some people may disagree with me 😉). There is no hard and fast rule about how long to keep decorations up, especially for a season like Fall!
